In September 2007, at the IAA motorshow, Alpina presented the B6 S with 530 bhp and 725 Nm.
As BMW ended E63 production, the B6 S was finalized in mid-2010.
The B6 S has a new generation ZF 6HP26 6-speed gearbox, which shifts considerably faster.
As an option, a limited slip differential is available.
There are no changes to suspension or brakes from the B6.
The B6 S received new 20-inch wheels with 255/35 and 285/30 tires.
Inside the B6 S is equipped with sport seats in Alpina design leather, new instruments with blue background and red needles, luxury wood “Myrtle”, a hand-stitched leather steering-wheel, Alpina floor mats, Alpina door sills and a silver-plated production plaque. The exterior changes are very subtle, front and rear spoiler lips are fitted. These make the car more stable at speed while maintaining a very low CW-value.
The B6 S has a special carbon-fiber hood with 2 intake ducts. This hood is a similar modification to that of the B12 5.7 Coupe and the B6 S GT3 racecar.
Optionally, the B6 S was available with a diffusor integrated in the rear bumper.
Most B6 S were delivered with this option.
For the B6 S Coupe, Alpina claim a topspeed of 318 km/h.
