  • Introduction

The B9 3.5 Coupe was introduced in 1982 as the successor to the 630 CS B2.

    Engine/Gearbox

The engine is identical to that of the E28 B9 3.5 and is based on BMW´s 3.5 litre unit with some relatively minor modifications. Alpina installed Mahle pistons and a more aggressive camshaft, modified the cylinderhead and combustion chambers and reprogrammed the Motronic system. The result is 245 bhp and 320 Nm torque.

The manual 5-speed gearbox is made by Getrag.

    Suspension/Brakes/Wheels

The B9 3.5 Coupe uses the Alpina-Bilstein suspension with progressive springs and gas-pressure dampers. Behind the 16″ Alpina alloys with 205/55 tires front and 225/50 rear are ventilated discs all around.

    Interior/Exterior

    The B9 3.5 Coupe has Recaro sport-seats.

It also have a leather-covered steering-wheel and new instruments.

Exterior changes include a new front spoiler and rear spoiler.

    Performance

In Auto Motor und Sport´s test the B9 accelerated from 0-100 km/h in 7,3 seconds and had a top speed of 238,4 km/h.

    Production

A total of 2 cars were built in 1982.
